For some actresses, being a part of the Hollywood in crowd is an indication of your success, but for Marsha Thomason, it’s more of a distraction. According to the Manchester, England native, she wants to be recognized for her work and nothing else. While Thomason continues to impress movie goers with her beauty it’s her intelligence that has those behind the camera singing her praises.

In a very up-close and personal interview with EBM, Marsha discusses the expectations of a growing epidemic, The British are coming!

EBM: You’ve become really popular in America. Has the transition from British to American film been difficult?

Marsha Thomason: Not as much as you would expect. From an artist’s standpoint I think the attention to your craft is the same, but the budget for American films are better, so that means after being on set for long hours the meals from craft are greatly appreciated. And I think film is becoming more universal than ever before. American actors are regularly doing film abroad and the process is becoming easier with the rapid speed of the Internet; it’s much easier to become familiar with an actress.

EBM: Now that you’re an American resident, do you still consider yourself British?

Marsha Thomason: Not so fast! I just have green card status here in the States, but my home and heart is in England. And in fact I still consider myself a European actress that enjoys doing American films. But of course the film making machine is in California, so I have to be available at a moments notice. Therefore, I’ve established residency here (California).

EBM: You’re best known for you roll as the chambermaid in Black Knight with Martin Lawrence. Did that give you the introduction you needed to win over American fans?

Marsha Thomason: It surely didn’t hurt. I loved working with Martin, and his sense of humor is appropriate. After filming ended I was expecting him to still be funny but he was so kind-hearted and such a gentleman, which made it easier to appreciate his status, and why everyone respects him.

EBM: With your re-occurring role in the television series Lost becoming more regular. Are you leaning toward television more so then film?

Marsha Thomason: As an actress I’m always trying to improve my craft and television allows you the ability to add dimensions to your character with each new episode, whereas in film you’re usually “that” character throughout the film. But my first love is being on the big screen and hopefully I’ll be allowed to pursue them both.

EBM: Do you enjoy the whole Red Carpet extravaganza?

Marsha Thomason: Well, since I haven’t been invited to very many, when I am invited it’s a must attend. And although I’m not much for the Hollywood nightlife dressing up for those events are always nice, and the gifts they give at these things are amazing. Heck, I’ll go for the gifts alone! At some point maybe I’ll win one of those statue thingies.

EBM: What’s next for you?

Marsha Thomason: I’m working on an untitled independent film and I’m looking to take Hollywood by storm. But until then I’ll be working on my bloody English bloke. (Laughter)

EBM: Thank you for your time.

Marsha Thomason: Thank you and Good Day.
